Noah Valentyn - the photographer
Photographer, filmer and actor Noah Valentyn is a true story teller. After 8 years working and living in New York and Los Angeles he is back in Amsterdam. Soon after his return to Amsterdam he is invited to present his first solo exhibition: 'The American Dream'.
The collection of ‘The American Dream’ was presented in the W Hotel, the Lloyd Hotel and Galerie Amsterdam. Soon after this Noah Valentyn and Alain-Celest de Buck started their own Art Gallery, Creative Studio DepartFrom. There they could promote art, projects and other new upcoming artists. And of course they use it as their studio for photography (Noah) and architecture (acdb.architect).
In 2017 Noah is invited by the ‘Public House of Art’ to join their project ‘Het Rijks’. A collaboration between the internationally reknown gallery PHoA and the Rijksmuseum.
He produces a serie of photos representing the museum by night. Different to other artists Noah got inspired by the furniture, the architecture and the statues of the museum. He invented new rooms and spaces where secretly the art and statues gather after closing time.
Interesting is the following discussion about the role of nudity in art that forces him changing several works to make them more interesting for the international market too.
Next to his personal work and projects Noah works in commission for actors, models and brands like the Mexican Victoria, Joe Merino and other companies.
In February 2020 Noah presented his newest work ‘the Crying Boys’. The exhibition was nationally announced in local, regional and national newspapers and he was invited to different talk shows. The show was presented twice: in Fort Kijkduin and Rijksmuseum Muiderslot, a medieval castle.
