CRYINGBOYS CONTINUED
The CryingBoys art series by Noah Valentyn is a powerful and evocative exploration of vulnerability and masculinity. Through striking portraits, the series captures young men in moments of emotional openness, challenging societal norms that often discourage men from expressing their feelings. Each image in CryingBoys is deeply intimate, revealing a side of masculinity that is rarely seen in mainstream media.
The series gained significant attention for its raw honesty and profound impact, sparking conversations about mental health, masculinity, and the importance of emotional expression. Despite being temporarily halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the series made a strong comeback with a 2021 exhibition at Rijksmuseum Muiderslot. The artwork was widely featured in newspapers, magazines, and on radio and television, solidifying its place as a poignant commentary on contemporary masculinity.
WHAT A CRAZY YEARS!
Do you remember? 2020! It started great, but as we all know soon it all changed. Covid took over the world.
Like many artists and performers, also Noah Valentyns Crying Boys exposition was stopped. This was only shortly after the successful opening in Museum Fort Kijkduin.
Despite this, the national introduction in newspapers and tv-shows and the large team of collaborating people was higly motivating. We needed to continue working on the concept, continuing the story.
We are planning to produce ‘Crying Boys, the Catalogue’. A limited edition, full colour, signed and numbered.
